Today I had a busy day, didn't get much done regarding art. I've got several paintings that are not finished and kind of abandoned. At least for a day or two.
I am being experimental with my art and some things I am doing I like and some things I don't. I am trying to determine what direction to take my art. Has anyone gone through this? It is driving me crazy. So perhaps it is with a little sarcasm that I quote Dr. Suess: 'Today was good. Today was fun. Tomorrow is another one'.

Oh yes Catherine...I am always going through this myself. I will be on cloud nine for two days thinking that what I am doing is just perfect and then on the third day I will suddenly feel down and think I have to come up with something more original and it goes around and around.
I love the colors you use and the techniques. I am always thrilled when you have a picture of a new work of art! Keep up the good work! Linda

Hi Linda,
It's good to hear I am not the only one! I get really frustrated with thinking about my art sometimes. I think part of it is that I am torn between wanting to do really fine art -like the masters, but I love to do whimisical and try all the different mediums and I just want to do everything! But it's hard to get people to recognize your art when you do a bit of everything.
Thanks so much for your kind words. I love your art too, it is very inspiring to me.

It's always good to assess where you are, make goals, and start off in that direction. We need to revisit that conversation we had about "playing with paint" on Wednesday afternoons. I've been doing that on my own and I've discovered some new materials and ways to use them. It would be more fun with friends!
